Guangzhou Zhixin Middle School Ersha Island Campus
2025-12-11

Shanghai Culture undertook a campus culture construction project for Zhixin Middle School's Ersha Island campus. Its core task was to complete a... Spatial Narrative Integrating the school's profound century-old cultural heritage with Cultivating virtue and wisdom " The school motto, from historical archives and abstract concepts, has been transformed into everyday scenes that teachers and students can stroll through, perceive, and engage with in the new campus.

Faced with the fundamental challenge of how to inherit a rich history in a new environment, design needs to transcend basic signage functions and instead construct an immersive spiritual space. This means visualizing, symbolizing, and contextualizing the school's historical context, academic traditions, and aesthetic education spirit, so that every wall and every landscape becomes a touchpoint for culture and a carrier of narrative.

The ultimate goal is to create a campus environment that can both quietly preserve historical memories and vibrantly inspire contemporary exploration. It should be like a three-dimensional textbook, subtly cultivating culture and guiding values, allowing the soul of the school to thrive in this new space, truly becoming a spiritual home that nurtures the temperament and character of its students.

This design is a profound spatial translation of educational philosophy, aiming to make culture itself the flowing air and soil of the campus.

Guangzhou Tower
2025-12-18

Shanghai Culture Planning is honored to have undertaken the wayfinding system design for a portion of the core areas of the Guangzhou Tower tourist area. Addressing the complex needs of this national 5A-level tourist attraction and "National Tourism Science and Technology Demonstration Park," our design focuses on key pedestrian flow nodes and spatial transitions, aiming to provide visitors with a clear, efficient, and technologically advanced wayfinding experience.

Inspired by the theme "Pearl River and Cloud Mountain, Smart Navigation," we combined Guangzhou's urban imagery with modern minimalist design language to create a series of wayfinding facilities. The design focuses on: **integrated information signage at main entrances and exits**, a **pathfinding system** connecting various functional venues, and a **smart interactive interface** integrating real-time information query functionality. These designs not only ensure smooth passage for large crowds but also, through digital interaction, elevate simple directional guidance into an integral part of an immersive tour experience, powerfully supporting the service quality and technological image of the Canton Tower as a world-class landmark.

This design is a successful example of how we apply systematic thinking to provide customized and modular wayfinding solutions for large public spaces.

Panyu District People's Livelihood Card
2026-01-16

Shanghai Culture Planning was deeply involved in the Panyu District People's Livelihood Card project, creating a series of card visual systems that combine regional cultural recognition with the warmth of inclusive services.

Design Core: Taking "Carrying Lingnan Sentiments and Caring for People's Affairs" as the creative origin, the design cleverly integrates Panyu's unique natural landscape (such as Lotus Mountain), cultural heritage (such as Shawan Ancient Town), and modern urban fabric, transforming abstract concepts of people's livelihood into tangible visual symbols.

Visual System: Around the four themes of "humanity, vitality, ecology, and inclusiveness," a series of designs are constructed, each with a unified style yet distinct characteristics. The visuals extract the essence of Lingnan aesthetics, employing modern minimalist design language to achieve a harmonious coexistence of traditional imagery and contemporary aesthetics.

Professional considerations: The design strictly adheres to the actual requirements of functionality, durability, and mass production, ensuring that important information is clearly visible, the chip area layout is reasonable, and the materials and processes are suitable for daily high-frequency use scenarios.

Project Value: This series of cards is not only a functional carrier, but also a visual representation of Panyu District's service philosophy of "serving the people, benefiting the people, and being close to the people." Within its small size, it establishes an emotional connection between citizens and cultural identity, as well as urban services, making every use a beautiful moment of experiencing urban care.

Shanghai Culture Planning is committed to injecting humanistic aesthetics and brand value into public services with professional and systematic design thinking.

Chinese historical and cultural villages
2026-01-27

Shanghai Culture Planning has been fortunate to provide customized public art creation services for several famous Chinese cultural and historical villages. We delve into the unique cultural fabric of each village and, using sculpture as a medium, create iconic artistic IPs that embody their core spirit and collective memory.

Project 1: Creating a spiritual totem for the hometown of heroes—Portrait of General Chen Xuande

In a village that takes pride in its historical heroes, our "Statue of General Chen Xuande" transcends the scope of conventional commemorative sculptures. We conducted in-depth research and focused on portraying his role as... The sculpture, with its powerful form and solemn expression, embodies the dignity of a local guardian and a profound sense of national identity. It transforms this historical figure into a symbol of the village. Spiritual Mountains and Immortality Cultural totems have become core spiritual landmarks that unite villagers' sense of identity, inspire future generations, and attract outsiders to admire them.

Project Two: Inscribing the Imprint of Civilization in Ancient Agricultural Villages—"Abundant Harvest" Art Icons

In another village renowned for its traditional agricultural civilization, our work shifted to a celebration of the land and life. Drawing inspiration from rice, millet, sorghum, wheat, and beans, we employed a modern, minimalist sculptural language to create the "Abundant Harvest" series of art icons and landscape installations. These works not only symbolize wishes for a bountiful harvest but also serve as interactive exhibits for visitors to understand agricultural civilization and take photos. The core art elements elevate ancient agricultural activities into public art symbols with contemporary aesthetics.

Our shared philosophy: Art empowers, one place, one soul.

Despite the different villages and themes, all projects adhere to the same core concept: We delve into the DNA of local culture and transform it into "cultural chips" with powerful communicative force and experiential appeal through contemporary art and design. We don't produce generic decorations; instead, we forge unique spiritual carriers for each village.

Our achievements lie not only in establishing visual landmarks, but also in effectively enhancing the cultural identity and brand value of the village through these sculptures, providing a solid foundation for the contemporary inheritance of historical and cultural heritage and the in-depth experience of rural tourism.

Foshan Polytechnic
2026-01-27

Shanghai Culture Planning is honored to undertake the series of projects for the overall improvement of the distinctive cultural environment of Foshan Polytechnic. Faced with the urgent need to integrate and highlight the cultural environment of the new campus, our design aims to go beyond basic landscaping and is committed to creating an immersive cultural education space that deeply embodies the school's spirit, regional characteristics, and the mission of vocational education.

With the college's motto of "Cultivating Morality, Pursuing Knowledge, Developing Skills, and Innovating" as its core, we integrated the rich Lingnan cultural heritage with modern industrial culture, infusing the campus with a unique "Buddhist Vocational College" cultural soul. Within a core renovation area of approximately 18,800 square meters, our design systematically reshaped several key nodes, including the campus entrance area, central axis plaza, flagpole, cultural corridor, and student living areas. Through modern design language, we organically integrated cultural rockeries, themed sculptures, narrative landscape walls, and a smart signage system into the campus environment. This not only solved the problems of the original environment lacking distinctive features and coordination, but also transformed the development strategy of "governing the school with virtue and strengthening the school with talent" into a daily landscape that teachers and students can feel, touch, and participate in.

This project is a prime example of Shanghai Culture's efforts in supporting vocational schools' brand image building, with "shaping the spirit of place" as its core. We delivered not only a series of landscape renovation plans, but also a complete and sustainable system for expressing campus culture. It significantly enhances the college's brand recognition, elevating the campus from a mere teaching space into a spiritual home that cultivates students' character, inspires innovative thinking, and showcases the school's unique characteristics, providing unique environmental support for cultivating high-quality technical and skilled talents for the new era.

Foshan Chancheng Green Island Lake School
2026-01-27

Shanghai Culture Planning was honored to provide Foshan Chancheng Green Pine Island School with systematic cultural planning and brand environment design services. Facing this newly built school located in the city's waterfront green heart and carrying the mission of regional educational reform, our core task was not only to construct a visual image, but also to inject it with a unique spiritual core and cultural vitality, creating a truly "growing" humanistic campus.

Inspired by the unique natural endowments of Green Pine Island and the profound cultural heritage of Foshan, we propose... The core cultural concept of "Emerald Greenery by the Water, New Life on the Green Island" cleverly integrates the dynamism of the Lingnan water towns, the vitality of the ecological green island, and the openness of modern education. Guided by this concept, we systematically completed the entire chain of work, from top-level cultural concept sorting and brand visual identity system (VIS) design to the overall creation of the campus cultural environment:

  1. Conceptual System Construction: Define the school's mission, vision, and core values to form a spiritual guide for all teachers and students.

  2. Brand visual design: A unique logo was created that integrates the imagery of "water ripples, green shoots, and books," and a color and visual application system that combines a sense of freshness with a scholarly atmosphere was established.

  3. Cultural Environment Creation: Deeply integrate concepts and visual elements into campus public spaces, landscape features, indoor corridors, and functional venues, making every environment a "speaking" educational classroom.

This collaboration is a profound embodiment of Shanghai Culture's integrated "strategy-design-implementation" service model. What we ultimately delivered was not just a solution, but a burgeoning and participatory cultural ecosystem. It helped Green Pine Island School establish a clear cultural identity and a highly recognizable brand image from its inception, allowing education to occur naturally in a beautiful environment.
