Shanghai Culture created a cultural space for Guangzhou Railway No. 1 Middle School, allowing the 70-year-old "locomotive spirit" to take root and flourish on campus. This former key middle school of the Ministry of Railways, founded in 1952, is now a national-level model high school. We have ensured that the school motto of "rigorous and pragmatic, pursuing excellence" is not just words on the wall.
Here, we've transformed the school path into a time tunnel, with reliefs embedded underfoot recording the school's development, making every step feel like walking on history. A glass walkway complements the classical gardens, allowing a dialogue between grandeur and dynamism. On campus, a locomotive sculpture stands proudly, recounting the hard work and progress of the school community; a gratitude stone rests quietly in the morning light, reminding students to be grateful for their roots; the eight characters "铁中铮铮,一群皎皎" (Tiezhong Zhengzheng, Yizhong Jiejiao) are engraved on the stone, becoming a popular landmark for teachers and students to take photos together. The school song wall is designed as a hollowed-out melody, as if the song gently echoes when the wind blows.
We also integrate the concept of "developing potential and promoting development" into our daily lives—the connecting corridors have become exhibition halls for student works, the exterior walls of laboratories are painted with scientific starry skies, and the blackboard at the entrance of the cafeteria is updated with campus stories every day. Shanghai Culture makes every wall speak, every corner warm, and allows the spirit of this long-established prestigious school to flow quietly in the space.
